this is not a home - work in progress

working around themes of the ubiquity of degeneration images, degeneration porn, civic domicide and photographic practice, this is not a home explores ways to strip away all the information from a photograph, whilst leaving an indelible reminder that a house is more than an empty shell, and a broken degenerated house represents more than an lazy chance to take a visually interesting photograph.

The landscape of this city is full of examples of lone houses, their neighbouring structures demolished around them, left almost as an emblem of the destruction of home. Layer upon layer of the city and its cumulative human memories are being stripped away with each successive demolition/regeneration programme, leaving large areas of waste-lands.
